SMALL CLEAR BOTTLES
If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a good cork bottle or two then this may be just what your looking for. None of these bottles are of the Civil War Period but several are very similar in style. They are very inexpensive and if they work for your impression then so much the better.
Bottle A was a condiment bottle of some type and has a top just like the era pickle jars. It measures 4.5 inches tall and I'm guessing it will hold about 2 ounces. The wide mouth makes this little bottle very easy to clean. It would be great for relish, mustard, ketchup etc.
Bottle B is embossed with the "Carpenter-Morton Co. COLORITE" from Boston Ma. Logo. It measures 4 inches tall and will hold about 2 ounces.
Bottle C is my favorite of the lot. It's 4.5 inches tall and will hold about 2 ounces. What I like about this bottle is it is almost square, not quite though. A feature you seldom see in any bottle of any period. It has flat sides which are indented should you wish to add a paper label.
Bottle D is a "Frostilla Fragrant Lotion from Elmira N.Y." So I guess you would use it for the lotion of your choice. You can see that the front of the bottle has a slight scratch, not a chip, not a break but a scratch. 4 inches tall and holds about 2 ounces.
Bottle E is your typical flavoring bottle. It is 6 inches tall but thin and it is marked "2 oz." A very nice little bottle.

AQUA COLOR STRAP SIDE BOTTLE
This bottle is commonly known as a strap side as the sides of the bottle are flat. This is not normally seen in this style of bottle, it's very unique. This bottle is as right as rain for the C.W. period and it's very clean, ready to use. It's a beautiful aqua color with not chips or cracks. It measures seven inches tall and about 3 inches wide. I'm guessing it holds close to a 1/2 pint.

AQUA COLOR COUGH SYRUP BOTTLE
This bottle originally held "Delavau's Remedy Whooping Cough-croup" made in Philadelphia. I think this bottle is C.W. period but it could be a little post war, if it is it's not by much as the style of manufacture is almost exactly the same for the 1870's and it's very clean, ready to use. It's a beautiful aqua color with not chips or cracks. It measures 6 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide and it holds 2/3 of a cup.

DILL'S FLAVORING BOTTLE
Now if you only need a wee drachm of "what ever" then this may be the bottle for you. It originally held some flavoring extract, perhaps vanilla, bottled by Dill's Medicine Company in Norristown Pa. I'm guessing it will hold 1.5, possibly 2 ounces tops. The style of manufacture looks good but I think it's post war. It will pass as C.W. It will need a little cleaning but there are no chips, cracks, etc.

DARK WHISKY BOTTLES
Here's a couple of great affordable Civil War Era whisky style bottles. Both are very dark in color and both are made using the 3 piece mold construction. Each stands about 10 inches tall and easily holds 12 ounces. That's a lot of Glen Livet! The bottle on the right has a nick in the bottom. Nothing that would adversely affect it's usefulness but you know what imperfections do the value of a bottle. Other than that it's perfect, I would have no problem using this bottle for drinks, ketchup or molasses.
The bottle on the left is a close match to the other but this one has no chips or nicks. It does have some small discoloration spots due to some "ground action." I've removed most of them using a mild abrasive. If your patient you can probably remove them all. If your lazy like me then a good period style label will cover most of them. Both of these bottles are made using the 3 piece mold construction. Either would be a great and very affordable addition to your impression.

1850's APOTHOCARY BOTTLE
This is the real deal here boys, I seldom lay hands on these. An apothecary bottle with glass lid. You can clearly see the strong pontile mark on the bottom of the bottle dating this specimen to circa 1850. It measures 10 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. It looks like it will hold a quart or perhaps a little more. There are no nicks or chips on the bottle itself but as you can see the label has a portion missing. The label along with a glass "label cover" is glued to the bottle but is easily removed with any solvent should you wish to do so.
This would be a great addition to any medical field display or surgeons impression. It's so hard to find affordable original items for Doctors. Christmas is right around the corner so I don't think this one will last long. If the label was complete I would ask and get $125.00 for this bottle. With the label removed it will still bring $65.00 I'm going to let you have it for $49.95 I got a great deal on it so why not pass it along? I'm getting that holiday spirit early this year!
