Don't let the name fool you. This blade is just about perfect for every job in the field and around camp. If I could only carry one knife this one would be my choice no questions ask. The high carbon 5 inch blade holds an edge even when you're doing toughest job in camp. Such as trying to cut a piece of meat that my sister cooked. The dark hardwood handle looks great and it's light enough you won't even know that it's on your belt. You could drop it in your haversack just as easily too. It's just a great all around blade. The tompion is just for scale. #0032 $19.95 BUY NOW! GOOSEWING AXE
Small axe or large hatchet? Viking axe, bearded axe or Goosewing, regardless of what you call it, it is one great looking piece of equipment. The handle measures 17 inches long so it will easily fit into your belt. The head measures 6 1/2 inches long and the cutting edge is 5 inches. This was a very popular style in the American mid-west in the early 1800's (pioneer days) right up through 1900. Of course this style is ancient in northern Europe with wide spread use thoughout the continent. It is so cool I would use any excuse to buy one. #2619A $39.95 BUY NOW! CAMP HATCHET
Finally a good quality camp size hatchet at an affordable price. Made from quality steel that will hold an edge, making all of your jobs around camp a little easier. It has a hammer style head from driving stakes (always a plus). It's size and weight are the perfect compromise between a full size axe (too heavy) and a light hatchet (too small for the job). The cutting edge is almost a full 4 inches with the head length being 7 inches. The handle is 19 inches so you can get a real swing with this one. It weights 2 lbs. so you can get some real chopping power going here. If you like throwing hatchets I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the excellent balance of this one too. Even if you are really hard on equipment this one will outlast most men 2 times over. ITEM #2619 $39.95 BUY NOW! FROM THE CIVIL WAR NOTEBOOK OF DANIEL CHISHOLMPage 50.Nov. 24th 1864. All are busy this morning putting more logs on our tents to make them higher. I had an old hatchet as dull as a hoe. HUNTING KNIFE
Here's a very well made traditional style hunting knife. Bone handle, 7 inch blade and 11 inches overall. The handle and weight are very comfortable and of course it comes with a leather sheath. They have a decent edge right out of the box too. #2640 $19.95 BUY NOW! BELT / BOWIE KNIFE
Now I call this a "belt" style bowie for no other reason than it can be worn comfortably on your belt. Regardless of where on your belt you like your knife to ride. Left, right, front, back, it make little difference as you will forget you are even carrying a knife until you reach for it. It's light but has a thick spine for heavy work. It can carve up a smoked ham or be used with your fork and spoon on the rare occasion that some one should feed you. It measures 11 inches overall, the blade is 6 1/2 inches. The leather sheath has a belt loop or can be worn inside the belt/sashe as was the custom in earlier days. If you enjoy being complimented on your equipment then I recommend this knife. # 2606 $39.95 BUY NOW! BOWIE KNIFE
This style along with countless variations have been found in every camp, north or south and every battlefield. If you want a blade that can handle any job around the camp and look the part - this is it. It measures 12 inches overall, bone handle with leather sheath that can be attached to your belt or simply slipped in between your belt and pants for an "earlier" look. # 2443 $39.95 BUY NOW! This saber was carried by senior officers and professional soldiers both North and South. It has a wire wrapped leather grip. U.S. is cast right into the knuckle bow. It has beautifully etched battle trophies along it's 31 inch steel blade. The scabbard is blued steel with brass hardware. This saber is standard fare for all senior officers. (Lt. Col. & above) 1850 STAFF & FIELD SABER #01 $239.95 BUY NOW! 1850 FOOT OFFICER'S SWORD
This saber is the most widly carried officers saber North or South. Standard of Jr. officers but it was also common for Senior officers to carry this saber as it was the one they had carried as they rose through the ranks. It is wonderfully crafted with an ornate knuckle bow, high carbon steel blade and a metal scabbard, gun metal blue with complete brass hardware. This saber is correct for any time period of the war and was seen in all theaters of action. ITEM # 744 $239.95 BUY NOW! CONFEDERATE STAFF OFFICERS SABER![]() This is the finest crafted of all the C.S. reproductions available. Staff & Field ? Maybe yes maybe no. Remember when you are talking about the Confederacy the officers carried what they damn well pleased. Even though this is the best saber available today it more closely resembles the US Foot Officers saber rather than the US Staff & Field. I'm going to suggest you take a tip from the C.S. officers or the period and carry what you want. This saber has a beautifully cast ornate knuckle bow with a small yet visable CS cast right in. (This knuckle bow is an exact replica of the Boyle and Gamble, Richmond Va.) Black leather wire wrapped handle. Even the pommel has a leaf pattern cast into it. The 31 inch steel blade has CSA, the flag and cannon etched into it. The scabbard is made of top quality black leather with polished brass harware from the throat to the drag. #02 $239.95 BUY NOW! CONFEDERATE FIELD/STAFF SABER
The same rule, or lack thereof applies here as written above. This saber is a copy similar to that of Gen. Joe Shelby's saber. A Confederate Gen. commanding cavalry. To say that this is a cavalry officer's saber is true. However it is just as untrue to make the blanket statement that this is a cavalry saber or that this is a staff and not a field officers saber. The guys who buy and sell original sabers call this a CS field/staff saber. (See Albaugh's book, "Confederate Swords" page 178) Similar originals with scabbards are currently selling in the $10,000.00 range. So this is a copy of a CS field/staff officer's saber which was made by (many agree, not all) James Conning of Mobile Ala. This saber has some of the general traits of a US 1850 Staff & Field officers saber. Most noticable, the CS cast in the knuckle bow are about the same size and have the same local as the US in the 1850. Appropriate for Jr. or Sr. officers (my opinion) of the CS. This saber has a high quality steel blade etched with CSA and battle trophies. The scabbard is gun metal blue iron with brass hardware throughtout. A very good saber for display or use. The Confederate copy of the 1860 cavarly saber commonly known under the catch all name of a "Dog River" saber is similar in every detail to the US model with just a few exceptions.
