BLOCKADE RUNNER DE-FARB ENFIELD RIFLE

As many of you already know, we have been working for the past year to improve the quality and historical accuracy of the Enfield Rifles that are currently being offered for sale. We started with the correct sling loops. Then we made the square ended brass lock plate screw washer. These two improvements alone were a great step forward to improve the look of the 1853 but we decided to take our little quest a step further.
We have "teamed up" with three of the most knowledgeable Enfield men in the country. Craig Barry, noted author of the book, "YOUR ENFIELD RIFLE" and contributor of many magazine articles on the same subject, along with Master Gun Smith, re-enactor, military musket collector & historian Todd Watts and Musket collector and historian Tim Prince so that we may provide you with the best and most affordable de-farb available to date. Our 1853 Enfield "de-farb" is a copy of one made by the Birmingham Small Arms Company, Birmingham England. All of our Birmingham Small Arms stamps, cartouche and makers marks were taken directly from an original in the Tim Prince collection.
Blockade Runner now offers a completely de-farbed Armi Sport Enfield rifle with all the trimmings for $649.95

This price includes everything you see listed below. Or you can purchase your rifle with just the improvements you want. Here is a list of what the complete de-farb entails;
Armisport 1853 Enfield Rifle. $449.95
The correct sling loops installed. $29.95
The correct, square eared lock plate screw washer installed. $19.95
The stock completely stripped and oiled back to a deep finish. (NO LAQUER!) $49.95
Modern farb marking removed from the barrel including the serial # from the top of the barrel and then re-stampeding the serial number (out of sight) on the bottom of the barrel. $24.95
Correct Birmingham Small Arms barrel proof marks re-stamped in the barrel. $24.95
Birmingham Small Arms stock cartouche stamped into stock. $19.95
Makers mark, "Joseph Wilson" stamped into the bottom of the stock. $19.95
Farb markings removed from lock plate and lock plate retreated for a case hardened look. This service is not offered by any other gun smith! $24.95
Lock plate re-stamped with "Tower 1862". $24.95
If purchased separately along with the cost of the rifle the cost would total $689.50
If purchased complete your cost is only $649.95

That's a savings of over $35.00!

If you like we can strip the bluing in any part or parcel from your Enfield (e-mail for prices), but that is not how these rifles were issued! The bright finish you see on Enfield rifles was due to field cleaning for many months. In the book, "Company Aytch" by Sam Watkins of the 1st. Tenn. Inf. Co. H. C.S.A., he and his pards used crushed brick on a rag to clean their rifles while encamped in Shelbyville Tenn. in April of 1863. You can imagine just how quickly that would take the bluing off of a rifle. Bright barrels and hardware would only be correct for a rifle that had been in service for some time. And even then the rifle would still retain some of its original finish in hard to clean places.
