Our North Carolina sack coat is made of the same superior quality grey jean wool you have come to know and expect from the Blockade Runner. The distinctive black epaulette (unique to this coat) are made of 100% black wool. the coat has a 6 button front with dished wooden buttons included and sewn on. Each button hole is meticulously sewn by hand. the coat is top stitched by hand around the entire coat and on the cuffs.The body and sleeves are lined with black 100% cotton. Each of our N.C. sacks comes with one interior pocket set into the lining.
If you would like to see an original of this coat and you can't make the trip to the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond Va., then pick up a copy of the book, "STATE TROOPS AND VOLUNTEERS" A PHOTGRAPHIC RECORD OF NORTH CAROLINA'S CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS. The best photo (my opinion) is on page 162. It shows the 3 Taylor brothers, 1st N.C. Reg. Co. H. standing at attention. It's a great full length view of this coat.
